Visitors on the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sactuary tour will have close encounters with elephants, and can observe them in what should be their natural habitat. All the elephants in this sanctuary are homeless and displaced animals placed here by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks. The Kuala Gandah Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary was established in 1989 as a base for the Elephant Relocation Team. Establishment of this sanctuary has helped prevent further decline of the wild Asian elephants. The elephants staying at this sanctuary have been rescued from all over Peninsular Malaysia and here they can live in a safe sanctuary, in the wild.

The tour starts with participants being picked up from selected hotels and depart for a drive which wil take about two hours to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary. The tour will pass some aboriginal "Orang Asli" settlements on the way to the Sanctuary. Visitors will be able to observe the elephants closely and get the opportunity to ride and feed them. They may even swim and bathe with these enormous, gentle beasts. Participants are dropped off at selected hotels at the end of the tour.
